Goats as urban pets?? Oh, the horrors!
Concerned reader Paul G. forwarded us this article from the Seattle Times along with his fears that such legislation will result in an increase in Goat Trauma. This article can be found here -- "One giant step for goatkind": Seattle gives them pet status
In his email, Paul says
"Apparently there is a group calling themselves the "Goat Justice League" perpetuating the fallacy that goats are safe and should not be stigmatized in our society!
This must be stopped!
The group has already succeeded with establishing goat rights. I worry for my child and the many others that have or will be traumatized. With new goat rights already in place in Seattle, it is only a matter of time before we will be calling this a full blown goat related pandemic!
We need the organization to send lobbyist to Seattle and demand changes. Obviously the Seattle City Council has been compromised by the trickery of these viscious goats!
Please help us in Seattle!"
We agree with Paul's concern, especially since a city Councilmember quoted in the article mentions an argument for urban llamas as well. The CGTF is contacted by a large number of individuals who have been traumatized by llamas. The combination of urban goats and urban llamas may be more than all but the most stalwart of people can stand.
We will be watching this situation and this group with interest.
